Last week we wrote a piece on How to Paint Anything.
After we posted our blog, one of our readers sent us images of her recently updated foyer. With a little paint (and a lot of elbow grease!) she transformed her tired entry into historic chic:
How did she do it? She started with a pop of a historic blue on the walls, adding new life to the room. Next she spray painted an existing light fixture with an antique nickel finish to give it a little pizazz. To complete the look she took an inexpensive console and gave it an authentic antique finish. Voila, her foyer went from ordinary to fabulous! She shared some of her ideas so that we could pass them along:
The Hanover pendant, from Hudson Valley Lighting, inspired her finish for the ceiling fixture.
She suggests using a simple console, like the Liatorp from Ikea, and transforming it into something special with an antique finish.
HGTV Shows you how to antique a piece of furniture.
The Montclair Mirror, from Z Gallerie, helped her complete the old world look.
TP, thanks so much for sharing! We love your creativity!
